This is the Obi that Hewett designed with Takashimaya. The Obi was inspired by Hewett’s painting:Bushido 24 which was exhibited and sold in his exhibition at Takashimaya Shinjuku in September of 2008. The Obi became the Number 1 selling Obi for Takashimaya’s national Jobon-Kai promotion. The obi sold for ¥720,000 each and while they were produced for the 100th year anniversary of Takashimaya’s Kimono business in 2008/9, the Hewett Obis are still available through special order.
